Hybrid computer types are very unique, in the sense that they combined both analogue and digital features and operations. With Hybrid computers operate by using digital to analogue convertor and analogue to digital convertor. By linking the two types of computer above you come up with this new computer type called Hybrid.

The
Computer types
Since the invention of computercomputers from first generation and fourth generation computers, they have been classified according to their types and how they operate that is input, process and output information. Below you will get a brief discussion on various types of Computers we have
Computer types can be divided into 3 categories according to electronic nature. Types of computers are classified according to how a particular Computer functions. These computer systemtypes are
· Analogue Computers
· Digital Computers
· Hybrid Computers
Analogue Computers
Analogue types of Computer uses what is known as analogue signals that are represented by a continuous set of varying voltages and are used in scientific research centers?, hospitals and flight centers
With analogue types of computer no values are represented by physical measurable quantities e.g. voltages. Analogue computer types program arithmetic and logical operations by measuring physical changes i.e. temperatures or pressure.
Digital Computer type
With these types of computers operation are on electrical input that can attain two inputs, states of ON=1 and state of OFF = 0. With digital type of computers data is represented by digital of 0 and 1 or off state and on state. Digital computer type recognizes data by counting discrete signal of (0 0r 1), they are high speed programmable; they compute values and stores results. After looking at the Digital computer type and how it functions will move to the third computer type as mentioned above.
Hybrid type of Computer
Hybrid computer types are very unique, in the sense that they combined both analogue and digital features and operations. With Hybrid computers operate by using digital to analogue convertor and analogue to digital convertor. By linking the two types of computer above you come up with this new computer type called Hybrid.

Keyboards are the most familiar and commonly-used input devices, as well as the earliest available for desktop computers. They look like a typewriter keyboard and are used for the manual entry of alpha-numeric data
{logitech-g19-keyboard3.jpg}
Advantages:
- keyboards have special key that proform specific functions.
- instead of using the mouse to move the cursor you can use the arrow key situated on the keyboard to move the cursor on the monitor.
- keyboard are less expensive because it comes with every computer.
Disadvantages:
- The person using the keyboard have to learn how to type.
- The frequent movement from keyboard to move and back could cause carpal tunnel syndrome.
Mice
With the introduction of graphic user interfaces (GUIs), the mouse quickly caught on as an input device. Mice allow you to control an on-screen pointer, called a cursor, which commonly looks like an arrow. When the arrow is properly positioned, you can use it to perform various tasks by pressing buttons on the mouse.

Advantages:
- it allows you to make selections and move items on the computer's screen.
- the two or three buttons make it easy to use.
- it is small and convenient and fits in your hand
Headsets
Headsets are a combination of an earphone and a microphone. Combined with voice-recognition software, headsets allow you to dictate data and commands directly into other software programs on your computer. Using a headset means you can keep your hands free for other tasks while using your computer.

Scanners work much like photocopiers. You position the document you wish to copy on the scanner's surface, then activate it. A digital image of the document is created that can be saved in the computer's memory, then printed or saved. Note that this is an image, and must be edited in a graphics program. If you wish to convert this image to text for manipulation in a word processor, you need OCR (optical character recognition) software to make the conversion.
{Scanners.jpg}
Advantages:
-It can copy things onto computers then you can alter the things you copied.
-you can back things up on CD-Rs, meaning you don't have to have several full folders of paper and you can more easily find it on the computer if you need it urgently.
Disadvantages:
-if you don't keep a paper copy or another form of back-up, you may lose it if the computer crashes.
-expensive

Uses
Laser printer InkjetApplications which require low noise and low chemical emissions, e.g. most
networked systems. Applications which require rapid, high quality and high
volumes of output, e.g. most offices and schools
Ink jet printer
Applications which require portability and low volume output, where
changing cartridges is not an issue e.g. small offices and stand alone
systems. Applications which require very high quality output and where
speed is not an issue, e.g. digital camera applications
Dot matrix printer
Applications where noise is not an issue and copies have to be made, e.g.
industrial environments (multipart forms, continuous stationery, labels etc.),
car sales and repair companies, manufacturing sites
Monitor
Automatic washing machines, automatic cookers, central heating controllers,
computer-controlled greenhouses, microwave ovens, robotics, production
line control
Speaker
A speaker gives you sound output from your computer. Some speakers are built into the computer and some are separate.

...
Solid-state storage is a nonvolatile, removable storage medium that employs integrated circuits[ICs] rather than magnetic or optical media. It is the equivalent of large-capacity,nonvolatile memory.

Device
Uses
Advantage
Disadvantage
Fixed hard discs
Used to store operating systems, software and working data. Any
application which requires very fast access to data for both reading and
writing to. Not for applications which need portability. Used for online
and real time processes requiring direct access. Used in file servers
for computer networks
Portable hard discs
Used to store very large files which need transporting from one
computer to another and price is not an issue. More expensive than
other forms of removable media
Magnetic tapes
Any application which requires extremely large storage capacity and
speed of access is not an issue. Uses serial access for reading and
writing. Used for backups of file servers for computer networks. Used
in a variety of batch processing applications such as reading of bank
cheques, payroll processing and general stock control
Optical backing storage media
such as CDs and DVDs
CDs tend to be used for large files (but smaller than 1Gb) which are
too big for a floppy disc to hold such as music and general animation.
DVDs are used to hold very large files (several Gb) such as films. Both
CDs and DVDs are portable i.e. they can be transported from one
computer to another. Both can be used to store computer data
CD ROM/DVD ROM
Applications which require the prevention of deletion of data,
accidental or otherwise. CDs used by software companies for
distributing software programs and data; by music companies for
distributing music albums and by book publishers for distributing
encyclopaedias, reference books etc. DVDs used by film distributors
CD R/DVD R
Applications which require a single ‘burning’ of data, e.g. CDs –
recording of music downloads from the internet, recording of music
from MP3 format, recording of data for archiving or backup purposes.
DVDs – recording of films and television programs
